Mateo Monfiel-Cervantes, 31, of Crystal Lake. A Crystal Lake man has been sentenced to six years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted sexual assault of a victim in Crystal Lake, court records show. Mateo Monfiel-Cervantes, 31, of Crystal Lake, was charged in October 2019 with two counts of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony. A grand jury indictment said Monfiel-Cervantes committed the assault on June 7, 2019. Monfiel-Cervantes committed a sex act on a woman, who was unable to understand the nature of the act or was unable to give consent, the indictment said.
