Injection molding giant AptarGroup Inc. said it will shutter its packaging and dispensing closures plant in Libertyville, Ill., laying off 77 workers. The layoffs are to begin Feb. 1. The company reported the plan in a Dec. 1 filing under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act with the state of Illinois. The Libertyville plant is about 20 miles east of the company's headquarters in Crystal Lake, Ill. AptarGroup officials could not be reached for comment on the closing. Aptar acquired the Libertyville plant in 2006 when it bought the dispensing closures business of CCL Industries Inc.
