South Elgin holding online auctions through Wednesday South Elgin is selling unclaimed bicycles and village-owned equipment in online auctions being orchestrated through Obenauf Auction Services Inc. of Round Lake. Both will end Wednesday, Jan. 11 — the police/security-related electronics auction closing at 9:45 a.m. and the bicycle auction at 10:40 a.m. Police department Administrative Specialist Donna Babica said state law requires unclaimed bikes discarded or left in parks need to be held for six months before they can be sold.
