The state fire marshal and fire and police investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that caused $250,000 in damage and left a Lakewood home uninhabitable. The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded around 5:54 a.m. Saturday to the 9300 block of Firth Court in Lakewood for a report of a structure fire. Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Chief Paul DeRaedt said that someone who was not at the home reported to police there was a fire inside the residence. Firefighters arrived in six minutes and reported the fire appeared to be out.
